Austria: Geography

Austria Geography

If you’re not on a mountain you’re probably in a forest. This is the kind of landscape that makes you realise there is some truly spectacular and untouched countryside in the world, and you don’t have go very far to find it. Over 40% of the terrain is engulfed by lush evergreen trees, and the rest of it is either above the clouds or a beautifully clear mountain lake. Needless to say, Austria is an uncluttered retreat for anyone looking to get back to nature. The beautiful river Danube, as Austria’s principal river, is also an important geographical feature. It flows eastwards from Germany, through the heart of Austria, all the way to the Black Sea.
