Landlocked in central Europe, with a total land are of 83,859 km, you will not be able to paddle in any Austrian seas. Instead, you could always take a day trip to one of Austria’s many neighbours: Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia or Italy.
Languages of Austria
The majority of Austrians speak German (around 90%), however, you will find there are number of different dialects throughout the various regions. Other minority languages spoken include Serbian (2%), Turkish (2.5%), Croatian (1.5%), as well as Hungarian and Bosnian.
Currency of Austria
The Euro was introduced in 2002, replacing the Austrian Shilling.
