The Golden Land
The blend of culture, history and cuisine make Thailand one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world. Given the chance to explore this fascinating country and relax on one of Thailand's many exotic beaches, it's not difficult to understand why.
The pristine beaches and romantic bays are some of the most stunning in the world with many offering a host of water sport activities, whilst the rolling terrain of dramatic mountain-scapes and lush green jungle terrain are fascinating to explore by foot, jeep or elephant. Why not take a canoeing trip along the Mekong River and camp out in the jungle under the stars.
The variety of places to visit in Thailand are second to none and each offer a different experience, whether it be the vibrant nightlife of Bangkok or Phuket, the cultural resorts of Ayutthaya and Chiang Mai or the exotic islands of Kho Samet or Kho Phi Phi. Indeed, many visitors to Thailand don't stay in one place for too long due to the exceptional diversity of the country. When moving around, public transport is very cheap and reasonably comfortable and though it is easy enough to rent a car, driving is not strongly recommended.
Trying different food on the other hand is strongly recommended. Cuisine is vastly varied, excellent quality and exceptionally cheap. You will find menus from all around the world and due to the rigid competition the standard is high. Bad restaurants don't last long in Thailand.
Accommodation ranges from standard to luxurious though the service is good and even in the high season from November to April prices are affordable. In the rainy season however, they are very cheap. The weather is hot and humid and due to the tropical climate Thailand has bouts of torrential rainfall, particularly in September and October though is not often disruptive. Whatever you want from a holiday, you are sure to find it in Thailand and the experience will be unforgettable.
